Unlike LED flashlights, an LEP flashlight uses a laser as its light source. LEP stands forLaser Excited Phosphorand these types of flashlights are extremely bright in the center of the beam, and without any real spill.
LEP uses a blue laser as its light source instead of a light emitting diode (LED) so the output beam or the output intensity increases significantly. On certain LEP flashlights you will see close to 2 million candelas with a distance of close to 2 miles!
